NAPA Flooding Simulation
Design can be improved with NAPA Flooding Simulation.
By using NAPA Flooding Simulation the designer gets a better understanding of the flooding mechanisms. The safety of the design improves as it can be evaluated more comprehensively. The developed pressure-correction technique allows a time-accurate solution of progressive flooding, internal water flow and air compression inside the ship.
NAPA Flooding Simulation has been successfully validated against measurements both from dedicated model tests and full-scale experiments with a decommissioned fast attack craft. Several different flooding scenarios, some involving also notable air compression, have been analyzed with good correspondence between the simulation results and measurements. An example is shown in the figure below.
