Welcome to ISSW2019 – the 17th International Ship Stability Workshop in Helsinki
NAPA is hosting the 17th International Ship Stability Workshop with Aalto University in Helsinki on 10th-12th of June 2019.
The ISSW and STAB (International Conference on Stability of Ships and Ocean Vehicles) are the most representative professional meetings in the fields of ship stability and safety, attracting international top researches and representatives of shipping companies, shipyards, classification societies, maritime authorities and other stakeholders.
The workshop focuses on specific subjects on the contemporary developments in the field of ship stability and there are sessions on topics:
• Intact stability and direct assessment methods
• Damage stability
• Stochastic rolling and big data
• Small craft stability
• Roll damping
• The future of stability assessment
Additionally there will be a session and presentations on the European Joint industry project on damage stability of passenger ships eSAFE.
The workshop entails informal in-depth discussions among the participants on the topics. This results in an ideal environment for persons interested in the current state-of-art research and development on ship stability. The event will also include social program and a workshop dinner.
The event will be held in Helsinki, Finland 10-12 June 2019. The venue is HTC Helsinki, Pinta building, Tammasaarenkatu 3.
